Maizy - Medical Foster/adopt Request's Story
We have another medical foster request. We're hoping we can find Maizy a foster home before the end of October or a foster to adopt home. Maizy is a 6yr female from an amish mill and she has been in foster care since the end of June. She was ready for adoption until she became lame on one leg which required more observation and later an exam with a surgeon. It's believed Maizy may have tore her ACL. She also has mild hip dysplasia, but they don't believe the lameness is related. We would like to find her a home that can see her through her observational period to see if improvements are made, but also through surgery if she needs it. Surgery is roughly 6-8weeks. We would cover her medical bills, we just need a home to give her the care she needs.

Maizy is currently being fostered in Madison, WI and she enjoys romping around her yard, meeting new people, playing at the beach and she's good with cats and dogs. Maizy does have some fear of loud sounds such as fireworks (she came into foster right before the 4th of July and the neighborhood fireworks really scared her) and thunder, not unusual for many dogs. She has made an association with evening time and these sounds so positive reinforcement for her bedtime potty routine is helpful.

If you would be interested in learning more about Maizy and potentially fostering her, please contact us! We need to move Maizy to a new foster home before the end of October.
