Maggie (in foster)'s Story
Maggie is a beautiful 3-year-old Plott Hound mix who has come such a long way and is truly starting to shine.
She is a loving, affectionate girl who bonds closely with her people and has recently become even more cuddly in foster. Maggie will happily seek you out for attention and, when invited, will come over for kisses and wrap her paws around you in the sweetest way.
Maggie enjoys spending time outside, soaking up the sun, watching birds, and exploring the yard. She has done well with off-leash time in a secure space and will return to the door when she’s ready to come back inside. She also has a playful side and enjoys chasing sticks and engaging with her people.
She is currently gaining confidence and working on her manners, including leash skills and polite interactions with other dogs. Maggie has done well being around other dogs in a structured environment and would benefit from continued slow, thoughtful introductions.
Maggie is house trained and crate trained, and she settles nicely in her space while still enjoying being part of the household. Because of her strong prey drive, Maggie is not a good fit for homes with cats or small animals.
Maggie is a smart, strong girl who will thrive with an experienced owner who can appreciate her personality and continue helping her grow. She has already made great progress and continues to improve every day.
If you would like to learn more about Maggie or arrange a meeting, please contact adoptpetersburg@gmail.com
