Maggie's Story

To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.almosthomeohio.org and complete our online application!

Maggie is a total sweetheart. She could waltz into any home and feel like she’s right where she belongs once she learns the new routine. She likes both people and other dogs and loves to be petted
—
she’ll even flick your hand so it lands perfectly on top of her head. When you’re finished giving her attention, Maggie knows it’s time to relax and will happily lie down. Maggie played with her foster mom’s collie soon after settling in. She loves to “cut him off at the pass,” especially when he starts doing zoomies around her. While she hasn’t lived with kids yet, we think she’d do well with them. Maggie is older, so she won’t be a rambunctious playmate.

Maggie has slightly weak hips that are gaining strength with gentle exercise, so daily walks and playtime will help keep her strong and happy. Maggie

struggles with steep stairs, but she’s learning with encouragement, and sometimes needs a little help getting in and out of the car. She does ride well in the car, and walks nicely on a leash. She is afraid of loud noises, especially thunder, so she’ll seek out reassurance or a place she finds safe and secure.

All in all, Maggie is the complete package: a wonderful dog who will fit in quickly when she arrives at her forever home.

Dont forget to visit our informative website, www.almosthomeohio.org, for valuable information and interesting features.
