Maggie's Story

Maggie is a 5-year-old pup with a gentle heart who's ready for a fresh start. Found as a stray and never reclaimed, she came into the shelter extremely underweight, but her sweet and loving nature has never wavered.

Maggie will need a committed adopter who can help her safely gain weight and get back to a healthy condition through proper nutrition and routine care. She's very food motivated, which not only helps with her recovery but also makes her responsive to training.

Maggie is extremely reactive toward other dogs and tends to fixate on them, so she will need to be the only pet in the home. The good news is that she responds well to treats, which can be a helpful tool in redirecting her focus and continuing her training progress.

Despite everything she's been through, Maggie remains incredibly sweet and eager to connect with people. With patience, structure, and lots of love, she has all the potential to become a loyal and devoted companion.
