Maggie's Story

Maggie was homeless for a long time. A kind gentleman tried for months to safely capture her. She became pregnant and had her puppies in the woods, and that's when she was finally able to be brought to safety.

Adjusting to life inside a home has been a big change for Maggie. In the beginning she was very shut down, and it has taken a few months for her to start trusting her person. She loves other dogs, gets adorably excited at mealtime, and while new people can be a little scary for her, she always remains gentle and sweet-even when she's unsure.

Maggie will need a very patient, understanding family who is willing to continue working with her and help her grow into a more confident dog. She would do best in a quiet home, ideally with fewer people and not a lot of activity, where she can feel safe and continue building her confidence. With time and love, she truly blossoms.

IMPORTANT ADOPTION NOTICE: Maggie can only be adopted within Arkansas. If you are out of state and interested in adopting her, you must be willing to travel to Arkansas to pick her up. No transport is available.

Maggie is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and currently undergoing heartworm treatment.

If you'd like to make Maggie part of your family, please complete our adoption application.
