MAGGIE's Story

Meet Maggie! She is a 2 year old female boxer with a wonderful personality! Maggie is small for a pure bred boxer. She weighs 40 lbs and the vet says she is finished growing. As you may know, most boxers are extremely hyper. Maggie is the calmest boxer that I have ever seen. She loves to be near her foster family but is content to lie down or play with a toy in the same room. She has become very affectionate during the past two months and wants to please. She has already learned to potty when walked outside and has had few accidents inside. Maggie spent her first 2 years outside in a pen with other dogs so she has to learn about being inside and all of the noises inside a home. She is very curious about the icemaker, dishwasher, washing machine and other appliances. She can’t decide whether to run and hide or bark at them. Too cute! She likes sleeping in her crate with her bone and toys. She is also learning to trust people and doing very well. We have seen no aggressive behaviors at all. She is shy at times and prefers to approach adults when she is ready, though she improves weekly. She likes children and has been gentle with the children in the foster home. While she gives chase to the family cat, she doesn’t hurt her. It seems to be more of a game than anything. At times the cat will be within a few feet of Maggie and Maggie ignores her.

ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.
