Meet Maggie

Meet Maggie! This 7 month old St Bernard mix puppy is pretty much the most ideal floofy companion. Whoever adopts her will be the luckiest person or family we know! She's delicious, loves other dogs, is calm around cats and great with kids (she was previously fostered with them).

Her foster mom says:
"She'd be perfect in any low-energy household -- family or as a companion. She's comfortable in my 450sq/ft apartment with an elevator, and she can also do steps with no problem. She is gentle and very trusting; doesn't jump when meeting new people/dogs. I can only imagine she came from a very good, loving home. She tried hopping onto furniture, but i curbed that behaviour and she hasn't repeated it since.
She is extremely friendly and is eager to greet every person and dog with gentle kisses. She has not exhibited any interest in small children and she has not met any cats.
She is housebroken. No knowledge of crate training.
She is great on the leash--does not pull and is comfortable walking next to me (instead of ahead/behind) even without a chest harness / just her collar. She pivots behind me a lot though, so I am working on helping her get used to staying on one walking side and stride while on our walks.
She hasn't shown interest in the selection of toys given or at the balls in the park. She eats dry kibble for breakfast and dinner but a little too fast. She enjoys cold orange carrots and dry chicken as occasional treats.
Low energy - she enjoys napping next to me while i work at my desk.
Maggie has the sweetest smile, softest fluff, chunkiest paws, and a beautiful wagging tail. She is very gentle and trusting, insists on meeting people and dogs with eager kisses, and is very calm on her walks at McCarren Park during peak park hour despite all the distractions around.
She's not much of a sniffing dog, as she prefers observing her surroundings and socializing while outside. She's pretty quiet and barked once at a discarded plastic bag on the street--after proving that the plastic bag was of no threat to anyone, she didn't mind them anymore.
She does not pull on her leash despite only wearing a collar. She's got the sit command down, and we're working on her stay.
She is very content taking long naps while her fosterer works long hours at the desk, switching prime napping locations from her dog bed to the hardwood floors. Maggie also enjoys a good snuggle on a night in. She didn't mind being left alone for 15 mins while her foster stepped out of the apartment. If you look directly into her eyes, she will come straight to you and gently rest her head on you to summon pets and attention."
