Maggie's Story

Meet Maggie! She's with a foster family in our rescue and this is what they had to say about her:

She is an absolute LOVE!!! She is a GSP/Coonhound/Lab mix with the sweetest disposition. Maggie is 11 months old and has grown up with her mom a Lab, Dad a GSP/Coonhound mix and a smaller older dog.

She has been wonderful with our young Weimaraner, but seems to be more on the reserved side. They play here and there but Maggie is content just chewing on a bone on a dog bed or retreating to the crate to avoid our typical high strung Weim who is constantly in her face asking her to play. Maggie just turns her head and walks away from her, but they do enjoy chasing one another outside. She seems to be more excited to run over to my husband or myself. She does not seem high energy, maybe more lab like in that regard. As I type this email she is underneath me, definitely loves people, a true velcro pup.

Maggie will need some leash skills, but she is by no means a horrible puller. She jumps up on people and counters so we are working on ending those habits. She is fine in her crate. She has whined a bit here and there and we've only heard her bark once.

She has a very high prey drive and cannot be placed with cats or small animals.

She has been wonderful with all my kids (13, 11 and 7) and looks for snuggles from my husband and I. She loves to burrow in your lap and roll over for a belly rub. I can't say enough about this sweet girl!!!

Maggie is spayed and all her routine vetting up to date. All she needs is her own forever home!

If you are interested, please complete an application on our website: www.gsprescuenj.com.
