Maggie's Story

Meet Maggie — A Loyal, Loving Labrador Looking for Her Forever Family

Maggie has had a winding journey, but through every chapter she has stayed sweet, steady, and full of love. She originally came from a rescue in Florida, and when her mom passed away last year, friends brought Maggie home with them to Georgia. Their hearts were in the right place—but their two Chihuahuas made it clear they did not want to share their home. Her fosters adore her, but the little dogs have voted “no,” so Maggie is now part of the Safe Pet Project family and ready for her true forever home.

Maggie’s Personality & Training

Maggie is 4.5 years old, healthy, smart, and wonderfully affectionate. She’s:

•

Microchipped, spayed, and UTD on vaccinations

•

House trained and crate trained

•

Great with other dogs, especially medium and large dogs

•

Friendly and social, with a gentle, loving nature

She has a fantastic nose—truly a scent driven girl—and at 65 lbs, that enthusiasm can turn into some determined pulling on leash when she catches a whiff of a squirrel. She loves walks, and she is leash trained, but her nose sometimes takes the lead.

Her fosters have been working with Sue Peet of Inspire Your Dog, who has been helping. Maggie learn how to channel that big Labrador curiosity into better leash manners. She’s a smart girl and responds beautifully to guidance.

Important Notes for Her Future Family

Maggie loves dogs of all sizes, but because she is so scent driven, her fosters worry she may mistake cats, small dogs, or small children for prey when she’s excited outdoors. She has never caught a squirrel or harmed a cat, so the outcome is unknown—but it’s something her future family should be mindful of.

Ready to Meet Your New Best Friend?

Maggie is a wonderful, loyal companion who deserves a home where she can be loved, understood, and included in all of life’s adventures. If you think she might be the perfect fit for your family, we would love to introduce you.

Apply to adopt Maggie: www.safepetproject.org/adoption-agreement

Leave Maggie a message: 706 400 7076 ext. 2
