Madonna's Story
Madonna is a 1-year-old, 54-pound girl with a gentle, thoughtful nature and a heart that truly shines once she feels safe. She is overall low-key and seeks out affection as reassurance, forming strong bonds with the people she trusts.

New situations can make Madonna uncomfortable and a bit timid, so busy, high-traffic public spaces are likely to be overwhelming for her. She would do best in a home that understands she may need space when new visitors arrive and allows her to warm up at her own pace. Once she's comfortable, Madonna is incredibly affectionate and loves to curl up on the couch with her person for quiet, cozy time.

Madonna has a playful side, too. When the mood strikes, she'll throw in a playful bow to invite you to engage with her. She's very treat motivated, enjoys food puzzles, and already knows sit, lay down, and shake, making her both fun and rewarding to work with.

She is a breeze to walk on leash, hardly ever pulling, and appears to be house-trained. Madonna also does great in the car, settling in calmly for the ride.

With patience, understanding, and a calm environment, Madonna will blossom into a deeply loyal and loving companion who offers gentle affection, sweet moments of play, and unwavering devotion to her people.

As always, we strongly recommend that resident dogs meet any new potential canine family members. If bringing a resident dog for a dog to dog test, please bring proof of Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines.

To meet your new pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!
