MADEA's Story

Madea was adopted from us early on in 2026 and is now back with us, looking to try again. This time, she is settling for nothing less than forever, and she hopes her new family is ready to be all-in, too.
She was found as a stray on her finder’s porch, eating their cat’s food — a small comfort for a hungry and lost dog. Her finder contacted our Animal Control Officer, who came and picked her up. Attempts to reach her previous owner through her microchip were unsuccessful: the phone number was disconnected, and emails went unanswered. Madea’s family never came for her.
Still, Madea is looking forward. She knows good things are ahead. This adorable 58.60-pound bundle of sass is now available for adoption and has her heart set on stability and love. She loves treats, has previously done very well with other dogs in playgroups, and truly is the life of the party.
If you can provide Madea the home and love she deserves, please come meet her:
430 Bristol Drive, Statesville
Monday–Friday 12–5pm
Saturday 11am–2pm
Her adoption fee is 80. All of our adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines and preventatives. Please establish vet care after adoption to keep your new family member healthy.
Remember the 3-3-3 Rule when adopting a shelter pet:
3 Days to decompress
3 Weeks to learn routines
3 Months to feel fully at home
We always recommend meet-and-greets with other dogs and children prior to adoption to ensure a great fit for all.
Madea / A312032
4 years old
Spayed female
58.60 pounds
