Whatever charming magic she is bringing worked on me and I know you’ll understand! Watch her video here and see for yourself- https://youtu.be/Fh1ymA3Ad3k

Estimated to be around 3 years old and weighing 51 lbs, we suspect Maddie is a pittie/hound mix, our best guess given she is a rescue. She doesn’t leave us guessing on her heart though, this girl is a walking love letter- gentle, affectionate, and thrilled to make new human friends. She opens up easily and is quick to offer a few sweet, sloppy kisses to anyone kind enough to offer her a few pets.

On walks, Maddie does need a little leash polishing-she gets excited and may pull, but it isn't long before she checks in and finds her rhythm. Once she does, she melts into the moment and is a great walking buddy. More practice and you by her side is all she needs!

Maddie isn’t a high-energy dog and is more likely to be found wandering around the yard rather than in a wild play session. She is dog-friendly and greets new dogs politely, often with sweet face licks, and then happily strolls alongside them. A medium- or low-energy dog friend would be her ideal match. She doesn’t need a rowdy playmate, she will enjoy a calm buddy to spend time with.

Maddie also did great meeting our house cat! She was curious but polite- she didn’t chase and was able to walk away on her own after a sniff. She may need some guidance learning how to live with a feline full-time, but her gentle approach tells us she has the potential to share space with a respectful cat.

Indoors, Maddie is calm and relaxed. She settles quickly, laying at your feet getting up to greet a guest or to follow the flow of affection. She thrives on connection and is happiest when she’s close to her people. She may whine a bit in the kennel at first, but a quick bit of reassurance and comfort is typically all she needs to settle in.

We see Maddie doing well in a home with a yard or in a quiet apartment complex. She's not super high energy but would love daily walks, social-time and regular cuddle sessions. Maddie does occasional sneak a gentle jump in to offer her signature gentle kisses, because of this, we would say a home with older kids would be best but she is a smart girl who responds well to correction and praise so this can easily be changed.

If you're looking for a gentle soul to be your shadow, a cat-tolerant sweetheart, or a laid-back companion for your current pup, Maddie is ready to roll over, show you her belly, and call your place home.

Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Three Little Pitties Rescue's Adoption Policy
Three Little Pitties Rescue is a foster-based, all-breed rescue dedicated to saving dogs and cats from desperate situations in Houston, vetting them, and sending them to loving forever homes in northern regions. We are proud to adopt out animals who we have poured time, love, and money into preparing for adoption. We do our very best to provide top notch medical care. Dogs come with 2 to 6 months of heartworm prevention, or a ProHeart6 heartworm prevention injection, or they have been treated already for heartworms if positive. All of the animals with Three Little Pitties Rescue come from Houston. We have a desperate situation here and we are saving as many as we can. Our animals are either located in foster homes in the PNW already, or they are scheduled to travel there in the next 2 weeks. Adopters will have a phone interview with an adoption coordinator, have a reference and vet check, speak with the foster directly about the dog, sign an adoption contract, and pay an adoption fee. For dogs already located in the PNW with a foster, you will have the opportunity for a meet and greet to see the dog in person. For dogs who have not yet departed Houston, you will be offered a FaceTime call with the pet, and there may be an opportunity to meet the dog in person once it has arrived in your region if it is assigned to a foster home. We love all of our animals that we save. Our animals are transported in a nice semi truck with a transport team in the trailer with them at all times. Three Little Pitties Rescue is seeking adopters who are committed to the health and happiness of their newly adopted family members. We receive incredible feedback from our adopters about their experience in saving a life through our rescue. Thank you for taking a look at what we do and we hope you will consider one of our beloved dogs or cats for adoption!
