Macy's Story
Macy (Tag N3621) is a 6-year-old spayed female, fawn colored pup who was returned to the shelter in San Diego after being adopted for 2 years. She was returned due to developing a prey drive toward small animals like kittens and chickens, and she accidentally hurt the toddler in her home while trying to get to them.
This big girl loves kids and lived with a 2.5-year-old, but she doesn’t quite understand her size—she’ll happily plop down on a toddler’s lap or barrel into playtime like a bowling ball. Macy gets along with other large dogs and adult cats, but her former family did notice some food aggression around big dogs. She’s been mostly an indoor dog but sadly, has spent the last 8 months outside due to the toddler incident. Macy is currently on thyroid medication and doing well with it.
Macy is a sweet soul who needs a home that understands her needs and can set her up for success. If you foster Macy, we will cover all costs. Apply with us today!
