Name: Macy

Nicknames: Macy girl, Macy Mae

Age or DOB: approximately 11 months old

Activity Level: Medium to energetic. She has her hyper moments a couple times a day but for the most part she is relaxed. She’s also incredibly independent! If you’re busy and can’t play catch/tug, she’s happy chewing on a bone by herself.

Things I do in my free time: Play! Macy loves to play with toys. She loves Nylabones and balls the most. If you’re up for a game of tug or catch, you’re her new best friend! Once she’s done playing, she loves to cuddle up right next to you.

Things I know: Macy knows her name, come, sit, no, and how to walk on a leash. She is also house trained, and kennel trained.

Things I am learning: not to jump on people (“off”) and not to play bite hands/sleeves.

Kids: Macy has not met kids that we are aware of. She gets energetic when she is excited and tends to run/gallop all over the room. It would probably not be best for her to be with really little kids as she would likely knock them over fairly easily. That being said, she is a smart girl and could likely learn proper manners around children. Another thing to note, she is very much still a puppy. Although she is doing well with learning “no bite”, she does still have her moments. She would need to be supervised with children (as always recommended when any dogs/kids are together).

Dogs: Yes! Macy loves other dogs. She would pair best with a dog who is submissive and does not mind an energetic dog being around them.

Cats: Macy did meet a cat before being transferred to MPBR and did well. If she was being adopted into a home with a cat, we would want to do another cat testing to make sure it would be the best placement for both Macy & the cat.

Size: She is currently around 40 lbs. and will likely grow a bit more since she’s still young (around 50-55 lbs).

Car rides: Macy does great in the car! She likes to sit in the back seat (she has a seat belt that buckles on to her collar) and she likes to look out the window.

Additional Info from foster: Macy has been a joy of a foster. She’s easy going and just wants to play. Although we are home often, we have still been kenneling her throughout the day so she can build on her independence and not get too attached to us humans. We allow her to be in the office with us on and off. While we’re working, it is common for her to bring you a toy and drop it at your feet. We’ll throw it if we have some time, otherwise she will play by herself on her bed or snooze for a bit. She has not had any accidents since we’ve had her and does awesome in her kennel (she does not need to be let out during the night either!). She might whine for a little bit (especially if she can see/hear what you’re doing) but she sounds like a little tweedy bird. She can usually be calmed down just by saying “Macy”. We believe Macy could be part boxer. She has a lot of the same mannerisms when she plays and it’s absolutely adorable to watch. She will definitely be a fun dog to add to your home!
