Macy's Story
Macy is a friendly, happy Shih Tzu mix with the best snaggle tooth grin. We estimate her to be 4 yr old but coming as a stray there is no way to know for sure. She is looking for a fun active home. She loves running around her fenced yard, and sniffing out anything new. She's not a fan of all this cold weather, but let's be honest who is? This can cause her to be a little too quick on coming back in from potty breaks before taking care of business. She will need to go out frequently with someone who will watch to make sure she goes. She has had some overnight accidents and crating at night is suggested until a routine is set.

She loves her food, and can be a bit of a food thief. She will take anything within reach. We separate dogs for food time, but Macy has not shown any problems with aggression over food. I feed Macie a half cup of food twice a day. She gets a treat in the morning and bedtime.

She likes lapsitting and her foster dad lovingly calls her Crash because she just throws herself into his lap. She likes sleeping in a chair, no matter what is in the chair, shopping, laundry, books. She's a smart girl; if the water dish is empty she goes to the sink and barks. She knows to sit, needs correction for jumping on you when she's excited, mostly around food. She's always at the window when I get home.

She has no problem with my dogs but I haven't seen any play between them. She does have a prey drive towards the guinea pigs and rabbit and pet birds. She's been around my cat outside, shows a lot of interest so the cat stays away from her.

Macy is spay/neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines, heartworm tested and on prevention. Adoption fee for Macy is $350. If you are interested in adopting Macy, please fill out an adoption application http://www.furgetusnotrescue.org/application.html .
