Macie's Story

Hi, I'm Macie.

I'm about 2 years old, around 40 pounds, and my humans think I'm a foxhound mix. I'm spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for my forever home - I just need the right kind of family to help me get there.

I'll be honest right away: I'm very shy at first. I always have been, even since I was a puppy. I'm not the kind of girl who runs up to strangers or immediately shows off my personality. I like to take my time, observe, and feel safe before I open up. I won't try to be instant best friends - but if you give me patience and understanding, something really special happens.

Once I bond with you, I become incredibly sweet and loyal.

I do well with other dogs and I'm house, crate, and leash trained. Cats aren't my thing, and I'd do best with teens or older kids who understand that I need space while I'm learning to trust. My ideal home is quiet, with a fenced yard where I can feel secure. I'm not an "out and about" type of dog - I'd much rather enjoy peaceful days at home with my people, living my best life in a calm environment.

I may not show my true self right away, but behind my shy exterior is a gentle heart waiting for someone who sees me for who I am and is willing to go slow with me.

If you're looking for a loyal companion and you believe in giving shy dogs the time they deserve, I might just be your girl.
