Macaroni's Story

Hi, my name is Macaroni (or Mac for short!) I'm a PURPLE pawprint, which means I will fit well into a home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:
-Personality: Friendly, outgoing, playful, happy-go-lucky
-Can Live with Kids: Unknown history, but seems like he'd be fine with sturdy, dog-savvy kids of most ages! Everyone will need to meet at the shelter first to ensure they're a good match.
-Can Live with Cats: No thanks
-Can Live with Dogs: Would likely do okay with a dog of similar size and energy levels. All initial introductions done at WHS.
-Can do Apartment Living: While we'd really prefer to see him go to a home with a yard, apartment settings could be doable with PLENTY of exercise and mental stimulation. If renting, be sure to think long term about your living arrangements and check with property management for any breed/size restrictions!
-Potty Trained: Mac has been known to mark in new environments so may need a little help getting to be fully housebroken. We imagine his neuter will help quite a bit with this!
-Bite History: No
-Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: No
-Energy Level: Medium
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Neuter/microchip
-Additional Information: Mac is a goofy, happy-go-lucky guy who's never known a stranger! Outgoing and with a zest for life that knows no bounds, Mac would make a great adventure buddy for all your hiking, biking, jogging needs. He loves to toss a squeaky toy around then snuggle up with you on the couch. Mac came to us as a stray so we don't know much about his history, but he seems to have a good foundation of basics (knows 'sit', walks pretty well on leash) and is more than ready to find a forever home to call his own!

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
