"I met Mac on Jan 9th during an evening volunteer shift—-a timid unsure girl in a loud overcrowded shelter—found as a stray in Chicago’s westside on Jan 4th. I would visit her at her kennel every time I was there & walked her when it was her turn. I had fellow volunteers check on her. I watched her come out of her shell over those 38 days that she was homeless. Day 38 I got to do her last official walk at CACC—Day 38 she joined our pack. Mac is magical perfection in a small package. Her eyes speak to your soul & her gentle loving nature is calming. Loyal, affectionate, smart & eager to learn more. She loves walks, belly rubs, self entertaining with toys, her foster brother Samuel, evening training sessions, snuffle mats & cuddly naps on top of you. She is your shadow of curiosity, your eager student & to love you to the depths kind of girl. It is an honor to foster her—-for every dog should feel as loved & safe Mac!" - Words from her very own foster mama! Mac even had a stint with a temp foster in an elevator building in a busy area of the city, and she was perfect. She's just perfect!!!!!!

Mission Compassion Paw Rescue's Adoption Policy

MCP is a Chicago foster based rescue. We focus on dogs who need extra advocacy, including: Pit bull-type dogs, senior animals, animals with medical or behavioral needs, and bonded pairs. We don’t view adoption as placing animals, we view it as welcoming new humans into our Pack. Because of this, our process is intentionally thoughtful and hands-on. Many approved applications ultimately result in us recommending a different dog with stronger match potential. This is part of our responsibility as advocates and something we are known and respected for. Our adoption process typically includes at least three meetings (often more) to ensure a strong, lasting match. These meetings allow time to build a relationship, communicate openly, and support a healthy transition. We are full disclosure, we know our animals well and are honest about their needs. We're hands-on from first meet-and-greet through decompression and beyond, and we are comfortable saying no at any point if the fit isn’t right. We look for organic connections and humans who understand that successful Forever relationships take time, patience, and commitment. Going slow matters to us, for our animals and for our humans. Important Adoption Expectations: All potential adopters are expected to meet their match at least three times with all household members participating in the process. Out-of-state adoptions may be considered for exceptional matches only. Multiple visits to the Chicagoland area are required. We do not ship animals. We do not allow: Gifting animals, surprise adoptions, or any adoptions without full household involvement. Adoption Fees: Dogs: $600 | Bonded pairs: $900 | Cats: $250, $325 for a pair We hold our animals and our humans close. Quality over quantity. Always.
