Mabel's Story

Mabel
6 year old Cairn mix
10 pounds
Spayed Female

Hello Furbaby fans! I am a new dog lucky enough to have landed with this group and my foster mommy Cindy.
If you look “Mabel” up in the dictionary this is what it says:
It is of English and Latin origin, and the meaning of Mabel is "lovable".
And I must tell you that it is so true. I am loveable. My first mom got me when I was 6 weeks old in Colorado. When she moved to Bellingham, I came, too! But last winter she passed away. I was lucky to stay with Auntie Kathy until she could find me a new place to live.
Here are the wonderful things or fun antics of mine:
Love to lie or sit on the back of the furniture with my eyeballs peeled for cats!!
I get along really well with other dogs. I play with a few toys. I sleep under the covers and sometimes need to get close to your head on the pillow. I love a car ride anywhere. I love to snuggle. I use the doggy door and I’m a hearty eater and not picky as long as it is tasty and nutritious. I am becoming a very good citizen as Foster mom teaches me manners and commands. It’s fun to learn a new language and be praised for it.

Okay and here are the less delightful ones:
I bark at knocks and doorbells but am working on ignoring them. It’s just so hard, sounds are suspicious, and I want to make sure that my human knows about them and the person on the other side of the door knows that if they mean us harm …oh it’s ON.
I need some leash work for my walks, and I do jump on the furniture.

I am active and am the perfect kind of dog for people who need to walk and like to walk, maybe jog, I need to have the freedom to safely run around and after all of that and a nice dinner I really enjoy lying next to the fireplace.

I am quite drawn to humans and like to converse with them, hug and snuggle with them
I have had a complete senior wellness exam even though I’m not a senior. It just means that I’ve had scans of my body looking for anything enlarged or amiss. My teeth were in bad shape, but they are perfect now.
I will admit to not taking the best pictures but see me in person and you are going to love me and I will love you right back.
I am living in Mill Creek Washington with a resident dog and 3 foster dogs.
Please email Michele: BabyDockin@msn.com for application.
