Mabel could be your girl.<br/><br/>Meet Mabel, a senior, deaf Boxer mix weighing about 45 pounds and fully committed to a relaxed lifestyle. Mabel will happily softly snore until you are ready to get up<br/><br/>Mabel loves sleeping in bed with her people, and while she’s very happy to be there, she will need a little help getting in and out of bed. Once she’s settled, she’s not going anywhere—except maybe deeper into dreamland.<br/><br/>Mabel came into rescue under heartbreaking circumstances. She was abandoned by the senior minister at Highway Christian Church in Bethany when he moved away, leaving her behind and vulnerable to coyotes. Despite that betrayal, Mabel still believes people can be good and is ready for a soft place to land.<br/><br/>She does great with other dogs and prefers calm companions. Mabel has osteoarthritis in her front elbows, which have been fully evaluated with X-rays and a CT scan at BluePearl Des Moines. Because of this, her exercise needs are minimal. <br/><br/>Being deaf doesn’t slow Mabel down one bit. She’s observant, gentle, and incredibly easy to live with. Her ideal home is one that values cozy nights, slow mornings, and unconditional love.<br/><br/>If you’re looking for a sweet, snoring, bed-sharing couch potato who will happily match your pace, Mabel is ready to move in.<br/><br/>Mabel is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and microchipped.
