Mabel's Story

Mabel, her sister and brother came to DHPR on September 18th. They were approximately 8 weeks old then and were in rough shape. :( Their date of birth would have been later July.

From her foster:
Mabel has been with us for 8 weeks now and is a wonderful dog who deserves a wonderful family!

She is crate trained, sleeps through the night, is potty trained, is a fabulous and quiet car rider, loves toys and playing tug-of-war, will fetch and return a ball, and has started loving walks! She doesn't have great leash manners yet, but it's all new to her. :) She knows Sit, Paw, Wait (a few seconds), Leave It, and has laid Down a few times. Mabel is smart and learns quickly.
Mabel still loves being with someone, 2 legged or 4. She plays hard and snuggles hard! A fenced yard and a playmate are a must for her as she loves to be outside. She plays well with her foster sisters and hasn't met a person or dog she didn't like so far.
Mabel hasn't done any damage to the Christmas tree or gifts or snowmen around it. That's amazing for a 5 month old puppy!
Her rushing the food dish has gotten better, but she will need consistency with training. A slow feeder dish has helped a ton so she doesn't inhale the food!
She is a very sweet and loving girl with the most adorable head-cocks when you speak to her! She's going to make a family very happy with lots of energy and entertainment and love! Children over 7 or 8 would be best as she is strong and doesn't know her strength.
**Breeds are a best-guess***
***If you are interested in adopting Mabel, please fill out an application available on Destination Home Puppy Rescue's Facebook page or via the "Visit Our Profile Page" button further down on this page.***
***We only adopt to homes/families in NC and SC***
