Mabel's Story

Mabel, her sister and brother came to DHPR on September 18th. They were approximately 8 weeks old then and were in rough shape. :( Their date of birth would have been later July.

From her foster:
Mabel has been with us for 2 weeks now and has blossomed into a lovebug!

She loves being with someone, 2 legged or 4. She loves the sunshine and munching on leaves, mulch, and sticks! She stretches out and has the cutest little snore when she does fall asleep. Mabel is learning about walks and all the sniffs they provide, but often just wants to sit and look around. She enjoys meeting people and dogs during the walks.
She is doing VERY well with potty training and is doing better about not nipping. She's just a puppy. Hooves, toys, redirecting for now. Her foster sisters correct her when she nips at them too. They play rough and tumble and have accepted her sleeping close to them.
She still rushes the food dish voraciously also and we're working on that. She probably had to compete for food before she came to foster care. A slow feeder has helped her not gulp it down so fast.
She is a very sweet and loving girl with the most adorable head-cocks when you speak to her! She's going to make a family very happy with lots of energy and entertainment and love! I think she'd do best with at least one other dog to guide her and to play with.
**Breeds are a best-guess***
***If you are interested in adopting Mabel, please fill out an application available on Destination Home Puppy Rescue's Facebook page or via the "More About Us" button on this page.***
***We only adopt to homes/families in NC and SC***
