Mabel's Story

Mabel is an approx. 4 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback mix who weighs approx. 60 lbs. She is a strong, dominant woman who does not take crap from anyone - including her husband Larry or his best bud Teddy. Equal-opportunity accountability.
Mabel is also very quick to talk smack to other dogs as they walk by. Loud opinions. Zero hesitation. She is full of herself, and honestly? She's earned it. She's a gorgeous girl and she knows exactly what she brings to the table.
Larry and Mabel are a bonded pair, no negotiations. They met in boarding after being rescued a few months apart, and somehow it was fate. He's the Ricky to her Lucy. She's prim, proper, and runs a tight ship. He's the "I'll chew your ear off while we walk through Home Depot because I love you so much" kind of guy. Together, they are perfection.
They both adore people and will greet you with enthusiastic teeth kisses. Larry is also exceptionally skilled at turning himself into a bowling ball and knocking down the pins - and yes, the pin is you. You've been warned.
Mabel and Larry cannot go to a home with other animals, but trust us when we say this: the two of them are more than enough. Entertainment, companionship, chaos, and love - all included.
Mabel is heartworm positive and currently on the slow-kill method. She will need to continue heartworm protection throughout her life.

Journey's Legacy's Adoption Policy
At Journey’s Legacy Rescue, our goal is to match every dog with the perfect forever home. To ensure the best fit for both our dogs and adopters, we follow a structured adoption process: 1. Submit an Application The first step is to complete our adoption application. This helps us learn more about you, your household, and what you’re looking for in a companion. 2. Application Review Once your application is reviewed, our team will contact you if you are approved to move forward. 3. Meet & Greet If approved, we will help you set up a meet-and-greet with the dog you are interested in. This allows you to interact with the dog and make sure it feels like the right fit. 4. Finalize Adoption If the meet-and-greet goes well, you will choose a day to bring your new family member home. At that time, you will: Sign the adoption contract Pay the adoption fee. Transport fee of up to $200 applies to areas if more than a 2-hour drive dependent on the distance. From there, your new best friend will officially become part of your family! ???
