Lyza's Story
Lyza is a sweet 1-year-old long-haired Chihuahua mix weighing just 6.5 pounds. When she first arrived, she was shy and a little nervous, but it didn’t take long for her to acclimate to her foster home, her foster mom and dad, and the resident dog, Ruby.

Lyza wasn’t familiar with a collar or leash when she arrived, so going outside was initially a little overwhelming for her. Over the past three weeks, she has gained so much confidence! She is now comfortable on a leash and gets excited when she knows it’s time for a walk. New noises or sudden movements, like a lizard darting by or a passing car, can still make her jump or freeze for a few seconds, but she is becoming more comfortable and confident with every walk.

She can also be nervous when meeting new people and may bark or run away at first. However, her curiosity quickly takes over, and she soon comes back to investigate and see if that person might become a new friend.

Lyza absolutely loves toys and is perfectly happy entertaining herself. She will run around the house playing with one toy after another, and watching her discover the fun of being a dog is adorable. She is not completely house trained yet, but she is making great progress. At night and when her foster parents are away, she quietly sleeps in her crate.

Lyza currently lives happily with another dog and we believe she would enjoy having a canine companion in her forever home. That said, she could also do well as the only dog, as long as she has plenty of love and attention from her people. She hasn’t had the opportunity to meet many other dogs yet, but when she does encounter dogs on her walks, she is quietly curious and interested in them.

Lyza is a gentle little girl who is learning to trust, explore, and enjoy new experiences. With patience, encouragement, and a loving home, we believe her confidence will continue to blossom.

Adoption $500

All UnderDogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm checked, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and heartworm/flea/tick preventatives.
