Hi, I’m Lyla! I’m a 2-year-old Pit Bull mix with a gentle heart and a quiet, loving spirit. My past hasn’t been the easiest- I was found abandoned and chained to a pole in South Georgia, with one of my doggie friends who had passed away just out of reach. Even though I couldn’t help them, I’ve held onto my kindness and trust in people.<br/><br/>Because of that experience, I can be a little shy when I first meet someone. But once I realize I’m safe with you, my true personality shines through. I’m incredibly affectionate and love being close to my people, I’ll happily follow you around the house like your little shadow just to see what you’re up to.<br/><br/>I walk nicely on a leash and enjoy getting out to explore the world. I’m also very friendly with other dogs and would likely enjoy having a canine friend. Right now I’m heartworm positive, but the wonderful team at HSFC is taking great care of my treatment and helping me get healthy again.<br/><br/>All I’m really looking for is a loving home where I can feel safe, be close to my people, and finally enjoy the happy life I deserve.
