Lyla's Story

Lyla, Female, Akbash X, 1 year old, 63 lbs.

Lovely Lyla is a sensitive and perceptive young girl who takes her time assessing new environments and people. Just leave her alone and, before you know it, Lyla is a whole lot of devoted fun.

She and her sister had more than their 15 minutes of fame after being dumped in a sparsely populated area. They spent about 5 weeks fending for themselves before a few dedicated people, with the guidance of a search and rescue team, were able to secure them.

It didn’t take Lyla long for her loving disposition to shine through. Belly rubs, please! When she’s particularly happy, she will give a joyful whoo. And she knows how to give paw, sometimes a little too well.

Lyla is calm, smart and well-mannered. She is also gentle, responsive and respectful. As much as Lyla loves her people and is content to be inside, she is also independent and loves being outdoors, keeping an eye on things or just having a good play.

Lyla is exceptional with other dogs. She reads them well and will offer play or companionship depending on the other dog’s signals. Lyla seems to be accepting of all creatures great and small with guided introductions.

Lyla will thrive in a low, medium or active home, so long as there is routine and not chaos. Ideally, a quiet neighbourhood, rural home or farm will meet Lyla’s needs. She prefers to be a homebody and, with a job, is content to be left on her own. She could adapt to a more social lifestyle with knowledgeable and patient people, but it’s not her natural state of being.

Tender-hearted Lyla is pretty darn close to perfect for the right people, and she is ready to meet you.

Lyla has been spayed, microchipped, and her vaccinations are up to date. The adoption fee for Lyla is $600.00.

For more information or to request an adoption application, please email info@homeagainbancroft.ca.

We do not ship our dogs.
