Lydia in MO's Story

The adoption process starts with an Online Adoption Application you can find at 'https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application.
Phone interviews do not take place til after an approved application is on file and we have a possible match for your home

My name is Lydia. I am being fostered in Higginsville MO.

After spending my life as a breeder everything about the world is still new to me and very scary at times. I can be very skittish and nervous. Loud sounds and sudden movements cause me to freeze or scramble. At my core, I'm a goofy, happy girl who loves to run around, especially with my stuffy in my mouth. I love to snatch clothes, shoes or towels when you're not looking and run with them. I don't chew up anything. Every day I'm becoming a little braver, a little more confident, relaxed (especially on the couch snuggling by you), and a lot more fun and sillier.

Because I'm still learning that people are kind, I can be a little startled if hands move toward me too quickly. Once I realize you're there to give me love, I'm all about the pets and affection.

I'm good with other dogs as long as they stay out of my face at first. I'm not a player yet, but I think that will be in my future. I have gained so much confidence by following my foster sibling's lead. Because of that, a home with a friendly, calm dog to help me continue learning how fun life can be would be great.
