Lydia's Story
Meet our sweetheart Lydia!

Lydia’s former owner reluctantly surrendered her to STAF due to aggression from another dog at home. They realized it wasn’t fair to Lydia to be subjected to this unwelcome and potentially harmful environment.

But this hasn’t deterred Lydia’s spirit! Part Blue Heeler and German Shepard, Lydia is 1 1/2 years old, weighs 60 lbs, is spayed, and has received all of her shots. At her last vet visit, the vet tech (who owns two Bue Heelers herself) was totally enamored - who can blame her?!

Lydia has quickly made friends with some of the dogs she’s been introduced to, and our next step will be to try out doggie day care, so stay tuned. Her transition to STAF has been smooth and Lydia appears to have settled in without incident, although she still shows a shy side.

She enjoys walks (she waddles!) and is undeterred by passing cars or people. She also loves to chill and cuddle next to you.

So, if this gem of a girl has piqued your interest, then please let us know! She would make an ideal forever family member.

Visit STAF.org for more information on our adoption process. *** Email adoptadog@STAF.org for next steps!

• All of our animals are spayed/neutered and current on shots.
• We do not do same-day adoptions. You will be asked to return for at least one follow-up visit, then take the dog home for a trial period before officially adopting.
• You must be 21 years or older to adopt from STAF.
• Due in part to increasing coyote activity/incidents in the area and the difficulty of predicting how a dog will respond to invisible fence training, we can not adopt to homes with invisible fences.
• We do request vet and personal references.
• We can facilitate adoptions within a 30-mile radius of our Cincinnati-based shelter.
