Lupita's Story

A while back, we got a call that broke our hearts. An owner had passed away, leaving 12 dogs home alone for over a month. When we brought them in, we discovered two were pregnant and several were heartworm positive.

Among those 12 was a little Chihuahua who had the odds completely stacked against her. She was pregnant. She was heartworm positive. And she needed her leg amputated.

We named her Lupita.

Our vets got to work. Lupita delivered 3 healthy puppies. Then she completed heartworm treatment. Then, once she was strong enough, she had her amputation - and she came through like the absolute champion she is.

Now? This girl is READY.

You'd never even know Lupita only has 3 legs. She zooms around, makes friends with dogs and cats, and yes - she can absolutely get herself up on the couch.

She's about 4-6 years old, full of life, and looking for a patient family who'll let her warm up at her own pace. She's a shy girl and prefers to spend her day snuggled up with other four-legged friends.

Lupita has already overcome so much. All she needs now is someone to give her the life she deserves.
