Luna Lovegood's Story

Meet Luna!

Luna came into our care after sustaining a broken leg from a car accident. She bravely underwent surgery to correct the fracture and then settled into a dedicated foster home, where she's been given the time, structure, and gentle TLC needed for a smooth recovery. Throughout weeks of crate rest, Luna handled everything like a champ, contentedly chewing on her favorite antlers and beef marrow bones to pass the time. Now that she's feeling stronger, Luna's joyful puppy spirit is beginning to shine. She's a young, bright, silly sweetheart who simply wants to be near her people and part of the action. Generally a quiet girl, she shows off her sweetness and sparkle, leaning in for cuddles and soaking up affection whenever she can.

Like many young Labs, Luna is still polishing her manners, but she's already made wonderful progress in foster care. She responds beautifully to positive reinforcement, is highly food-motivated, and genuinely eager to please. With continued guidance and consistency, she's well on her way to becoming a truly exceptional canine companion. Luna is a resilient young lab lady with a big heart and so much potential. After surgery, rest, and a lot of healing, she's more than ready to trade crate recovery for couch cuddles, continued training, and a fantastic family to cheer her on and cherish her!

Dogs: Luna is dog social. We are happy to arrange a dog introduction at HSCC if you have a resident canine looking for a friend.
Cats: Luna has lived with dog-savvy cats and enjoyed their company, though she may be too eager for sensitive cats!
Children: Luna has lived with children and enjoyed their company.

Ready to adopt your new best friend?
Submit an adoption application today! You'll receive an email with all the next steps. At HSCC, dog adoptions are by appointment, and we'll schedule your counseling session promptly to help you find the pawfect canine companion!
