Luna's Story

Luna is an estimated 2 year old female mini poodle mix. She is a tiny girl at just 10 pounds. Luna has a very sweet personality and while she still frightens easily, is gaining trust and enjoying playing with toys and other dogs. She sleeps all night in her kennel and doesn’t have accidents in her kennel or playpen. She is doing good on potty training but isn’t completely trustworthy having run of the house yet. We have been working on walking on leash and she is doing better each day. She is not a fan of the cold weather so is learning to do her business quickly. She is starting to learn sit and recalls in the house. We have not done any recall work outside in yard. We are not going to require a fence, however she must be always kept on leash. Even within a fence, we recommend leashing her until she acclimates as she startles easily.
Her favorite thing to do is curl up on your lap and sleep. Luna will make a great companion for someone that wants a cuddle buddy. She does like other dogs but wouldn’t need another dog to be happy in her home She is fine around children but would probably be better with older children since she’s so small and new to normal family life.
Luna had her health check on 1/12/26 and will be spayed on 1/22/26 and will be available for adoption after her spay. Luna’s adoption fee is $300. Applications can be submitted at www.heartrescueteam.com.
