Luna 's Story
Age: 3 years
Weight: 57 LBS
Fee: $175

Meet Luna — a beautiful tan-and-black German Shepherd mix with a loving heart that’s just waiting to feel safe and secure again. This spayed 3.5-year-old girl can be very nervous in the shelter environment and struggles with being alone, but once she trusts you, she becomes incredibly sweet, loyal, and wonderfully clingy with her people.

Luna is good with children both under and over 10 years old and enjoys being close to the people she loves. When she feels comfortable, her playful side comes out with happy zoomies and classic goofy shepherd energy. She’s also your typical vocal shepherd girl and isn’t afraid to share her opinions with a few whines along the way!

Luna would do best in a home without cats or small animals due to her high prey drive. She is partially housebroken and just needs a little more patience and consistency to fully master it. She can also be a bit stubborn at times, but her affectionate personality and devotion make her well worth the effort.

Luna is looking for a patient, understanding home that will help her build confidence and show her she’s safe and loved. Once you earn her trust, you’ll have a loyal companion who will want nothing more than to stay by your side.

At the Humane Society of Midland County, all animals adopted will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations prior to an adoption. Dogs over 6 months of age will be heartworm tested, and any dog with a positive test will receive treatment at No Appointment Needed to Meet Adoptable Animals!
We have open adoption hours, and walk-ins are always welcome! While filling out an application lets us know you're interested in adopting, it does not hold an animal, and applications are not required to meet the available animals. We do highly recommend and may require you to bring any dogs that reside in the same household, or that will be around commonly if you are meeting a new dog companion.

Want to Know if I’m Still Available?
Call the shelter at (989)-835-1877 to confirm my availability. If you’d like to show you’re thinking about adopting, please fill out an application on our website under "Adopt" at www.hsomc.org.

Open Adoption Hours:

Tuesday & Wednesday: Noon – 6 pm

Thursday & Friday: Noon – 7 pm

Saturday: Noon – 4 pm

I’m located at the Humane Society of Midland County, 4371 E Ashman St, Midland, MI 48642.

We can’t wait to meet you and help you find your new best friend!

no additional cost.
