Luna's Story

Meet Lucky Luna! Luna is the mama to our Mardi Gras litter and now that her puppies have all been adopted, it is her turn to find a forever home!

Luna is about 3 years old and weighs 55 pounds. She is crate trained and house trained. She pulls on leash but is working on her manners. Right now, Luna is still crated when left alone, as she is still learning how to be an inside dog.

Luna loves people and loves kids (she has been around kids ages 4-10) but because of her enthusiasm, we feel that she would be better with older kids. She VERY much likes to play with other dogs and will play forcefully enough that a dog that matches her energy would be the best fit for her in her forever home. She may be too much for a senior dog. Luna has not been around cats.

Luna is very strong willed and is still learning so someone who is dedicated to continuing her training is important! She is so goofy!! Sometimes when she is getting loves or belly rubs, she forgets that she is still on your lap and she will start to wiggle and play!! Luna is very curious. She gets into things due to her exploring. She likes to counter cruise to see what new stuff is up there!!! She is doing better with training. She loves to demolish small stuffed animals and can entertain herself for an hour with an old plastic bottle.

Luna is learning not to jump on people and is working hard to be a good leash walker. She loves attention and really is eager to please; she is quite happy with herself when she is rewarded and knows she has been a good girl! Luna does fantastic in a crate, and you never hear a peep out of her. She does like to play games before getting into the crate and will make you give her a treat or tease her to get into the crate. She just really wants to be loved and give back that same love.

Luna will be available for adoption on, or after, May 15th, 2026

If you are interested in Luna and are an approved adopter, please contact your Adoption Coordinator to be added to Luna’s list. If you are a not yet approved, you can find our adoption guidelines and application at: www.savealabrescue.org

Luna is fostered in RI
