LUNA's Story
Luna is a hospice foster. She is about 12 years old and has some mobility issues. She is deaf, so we have established hand signals for COME, SIT and LEAVE IT. She was shy at first, but now comes to greet me when I arrive home. It took a few weeks for her to relax and bond with me. At first, she would cringe when I reached out to pet her. She now loves a good scratch behind the ears and doesn't cringe. She is a little slow climbing the 5 steps from the backyard, but show her the leash, and she is full of energy, LET'S GO! I've been working with her to walk beside me and not pull, but she's a huskie and very strong, so we're working on it slowly. I have not marketed her at all. She is comfortable in my home and I believe she feels secure here for whatever time she has left.
