Luna's Story

Luna is an estimated 2-year-old Pitbull-type mix weighing in at almost 70 pounds, and this beautiful girl has a whole lot of love to give!

Luna absolutely loves people and is friendly with everyone she meets. She doesn't seem to mind other dogs and has been around children. She's playful, loves attention, and would happily soak up all the love her family has to offer.

Luna does have a strong prey drive toward fowl and is known to chase chickens, so a home with chickens or other fowl will not be a good fit for her.

Like many young dogs, Luna still has a few things to work on. She could use some practice with recall and general manners and etiquette. She also has a nervous piddle when she's excited or feeling unsure. We were told she is housetrained, but as with any shelter dog, we cannot guarantee that she is completely housebroken in a new home.

Luna is currently waiting for her spay surgery before she can head off to her forever home, but that day can't come soon enough!

In the meantime, we would LOVE to set up some meet-and-greets for Luna! Our hope is that while she's waiting for her surgery, she can meet her potential forever family and have everything lined up so that when she's ready to go home, her forever family is waiting for her.

With her beautiful coloring, playful personality, and love for people, Luna is sure to make someone a wonderful companion. She's ready for a family who will give her the patience, consistency, exercise, and love she needs to continue becoming the best version of herself.

Could Luna be the big, beautiful, loving girl you've been waiting for?

If you're interested in meeting Luna, reach out to us about setting up a meet-and-greet!

Cheboygan County Humane Society's Adoption Policy
We do not hold available/adoptable animals as we are a first come first serve facility. However, we do place animals in homes that are best fitting for that animal. If you rent, please supply your landlord's information as we cannot adopt until we speak to them directly or have something in writing approving the animal(s) allowed. If you are interested in us matching you with a forever pet, please fill out an adoption questionnaire below for us to know a little bit more about you! Please keep in mind we do require vet checks and meet and greets with other dogs in the home. It normally takes 30 + minutes for the adoption process. Please be patient and ask questions! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/12nUph8lBvpdwzrAo8-zrLyiyQV3NQ259N6VMrLq7veo/edit
