Luna's Story

A060707 Luna; intact female Malinois/German Shepherd mix; est. 9 months; 50.20 Ibs
Contact: Calaveras County Animal Services
(209)754-6509
Website: https://animal.calaverasgov.us/
Email: animal@calaverascounty.gov

Luna is a delightful young pupper with an extra-sweet temperament. She just loves human contact, frequently snuggling against or between your legs when on walks or playing. She's beautifully athletic and rather catlike in her lithe movements. She is full of energy and will thrive best in an active household. 🏃🏻‍♀️‍➡️

Luna loves to play ball, it turns out. She discovered in about five minutes that a) there is such a thing as playing ball, and b) that one might enjoy chasing and tossing the ball around a bit, and also c) that one might bring said ball back to a human friend who may be willing to throw it over and over (and over!!) for you. What fun! She doesn't drop the ball on the ground, but gently offers it up in her mouth for her handler to take and toss again. We'd imagine she'll soon learn the 'drop' trick, as well, as this girl seems quite smart and interested in learning new things. She's got 'sit' figured out already.

Training promises to be a lot of fun with Luna, and will be helped by her enthusiasm for treats.

She keeps her inner kennel tidy, which is promising, though we cannot make promises on house training.

We do not have info on her attitude toward cats at this time.

As always, a meet-and-greet is required if you have other dogs at home.
