Luna's Story

Meet Luna - I'm a 2-year-old Staffordshire mix with a big heart and an even bigger love for the simple things in life. I weigh nearly 70 pounds, but I'm all about affection, cuddles, and being close to my people once I feel safe.

One of my absolute favorite things? Drive-thrus - especially when a pup cup is involved. I'm also a great co-pilot and do really well in the car, so I'm always ready for a ride and a little adventure.

I can be cautious in new environments, and the shelter was especially scary for me when I first arrived. Because of that, I'll need a home that understands I may take time to decompress and settle in. I do best with someone familiar with the 3-3-3 rule and who can give me patience, structure, and reassurance as I adjust.

I'm dog selective because I have a distinct play style. With proper introductions and once I get to know a dog, I can be very playful and social-but I'm not a fit for dog parks. I haven't been around cats, and in my previous home I did chase chickens, so a cat-free and small-livestock-free home is best for me.

Once I feel comfortable, my personality really shines. I'm housebroken, very affectionate, and love a good cuddle session with my favorite person. I may start off a little unsure, but what I really want is security, consistency, and a forever home where I can finally relax and be loved.

I am up to date on my vaccines, heartworm tested, spayed, and microchipped-ready to head home with my perfect match.

Animal Care Society Inc's Adoption Policy
Visit our web site at http://www.animalcaresociety.org/ Why Adopt from ACS? One of the best things about life is that it’s full of second chances! When people adopt a new family member from a shelter they are giving a pet a second chance in life! Many folks go to a breeder for a specific type of pet but those same animals can be found at the Animal Care Society! And if there isn’t such an animal at our shelter, ACS staffers are happy to refer interested parties to the RIGHT breed rescue group! The pets available at the Animal Care Society are special. Careful selection, constant socialization, diligent loving daily care and even hand raised kittens and puppies make our candidates for adoption a premium in the shelter world. While we are still a shelter, we make every effort to make a cat or dog feel at home here! It goes a long way in deferring some of the kennel fatigue experienced by shelter animals.
