Lumi's Story

Meet Lumi!
This pretty little lady is an 8 year old spayed Husky. She's bubbly, energetic, and super super friendly! We are heartbroken for Miss Lumi that she finds herself at the shelter, but she has not let it douse her spirits one bit. Immediately upon meeting us she was ready for play time, and was soon chasing us around the yard. She's done great with everyone that she's met at the shelter so far, and we're hopeful that he loving personality will quickly snare her a forever home.
Lumi was with her original family since she was a puppy, but in true husky fashion, she was escaping and running loose far too often. They were worried she would end up hurt on one of her escapades, so they gave her to a family member that they hoped would be a better fit. Unfortunately, they soon realized that their home would not be the right place for Lumi either. Lumi has a real bad habit of chasing and biting cattle, and with her going after the neighbor's herd, it started to not be safe for Lumi to stay there, either.
Other than cattle, Lumi gets along with just about everyone. She's done great with kids in her previous homes, and also gets along with other dogs and cats. With her history of chasing cattle, she will not be adopted out to any homes where she could have access to livestock. Due to her history of being an escape artist, we will also require she goes to a home with a secure yard for her own safety.
We know Lumi seems to be getting up there in age, but she has not shown major signs of slowing down. In true Husky fashion she still has plenty of energy and would love to have some more adventures! At the end of a long day with her favorite humans, you will see her snuggly side come out. She's a very affectionate girl, and will make a wonderful addition to the right family!
Lumi is housebroken and has received her first round of vaccinations. She's also microchipped, which can be transferred to her new owner's name after adoption. So what are you waiting for - come out and meet Lumi today!
