I'm Lulu, and I love to play, I mean I really love to play. Ropes? I love them. Balls? Those are so great I’ve fallen asleep with them. My stuffed bird? Don’t get me started, I love my stuffed bird.

Really any kind of toy is great, I’ll play fetch and tug with you all day if you will let me. Anytime you are ready I’ll bring you a toy, and I’ll even bring one if you aren’t ready, just to check.

I'm a very good looking 3 year old, 60 lb bluetick coonhound. Like so many blueticks, I've got a winning, gentle personality.

In my foster home I am learning all my commands and am getting really good at walking on a leash. Walks are one of my favorite activities, so it's a good thing I'm so smart and picked up this leash walking skill so quickly.

I know sit, down, stay, and look, then just to show how smart I am I learned shake and high-five in less than 30 minutes.

I'm living with a very nice human in an apartment in Alexandria. Yes, I have a really beautiful hound howl but I keep it down inside and don't see the need to be vocal too often. My foster's home is very nice and I am house trained so I keep it that way.

I am active and my ideal home would have a well-fenced yard or someone who can take me on a lot of long walks and to the park. I love the park and get along with pretty much everyone there - other dogs and humans of all ages. It’s ok if you have cats at home, I basically just ignore them.

Before I came to Homeward Trails I lived in the Danville shelter for more than two years after someone gave me up when I was just a puppy. I am so happy to be finally living in a home again and eager to find my forever home..

If you are interested in meeting me, email my friend Lois at LoisLHT@gmail.com.

You can save animals like this one by becoming a foster! Fosters are like way stations between high kill shelters and forever homes. We need fosters so that we can save dogs before they are euthanized at the shelters. If you are interested in becoming a foster, please check out our information about fostering by visiting http://www.homewardtrails.org/foster-a-pet/dog-and-cat-foster-program/
