Look! It's Luke! He is a 5 year old male Great Dane with nice and short fawn colored hair. Luke came into an Oklahoma shelter as a stray and he didn't bring a history book along. We do know that he was a staff favorite at the shelter and the boarding facility he stayed in. Now that Luke is in the hands of a Big Dogs Huge Paws Foster family, we will learn a lot more about him and provide updates to his story. He has shown that he is good with other dogs while in boarding and in his foster home, he lives with another Great Dane and a couple of human youngsters. Many of the gentle giants that come into our rescue have been neglected or abused. Others have simply been abandoned by their owners due to a divorce, a new baby, moving, or natural disaster. We are often told that they got “too big” or “too expensive” and many of the dogs below come to us with very little training. Despite their past, rescue dogs are incredibly forgiving and very eager to please. They have so much to give and are all very special.
