Luke's Story

This is a courtesy post for a wonderful community member trying to help handsome Luke.

Meet Luke, a 2 year-old Blue Nose/Red Nose Pittie who is in desperate need of a home or foster. His story like many others is very sad and traumatic. He has lived on the streets and then was dropped off to someone who isn't able to give him the home he deserves.

Luke is a real snuggler!! He loves to be around people, to give and receive attention. His smile takes up his whole face and lights up your heart, and his butt wiggles like no other. His eyes are beautiful and look to you for direction so he needs someone who will connect with him. He knows sit, stay and down, and he is very smart and a quick learner. He is fully house trained. Luke has been to two local vets, where all the vet techs love him. He is excellent with nail trims! He is really good with baths too.

Luke needs some guidance around resource guarding. Probably due to his time on the streets, he has had some food issues around other dogs, so needs to be in a home without other dogs, cats or young children. He also will need some work around his separation anxiety. He will thrive with someone who can give him a chance of love, stability, clear guidance, and who understands Pitbulls.

Luke is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped.

To ensure that he gets a solid, stable home and to cover some of his care, neutering, etc., there is a rehoming fee.
Please contact CAF volunteer Liz at 707 496-9623 for more information or to schedule a meet and greet.

Companion Animal Foundation's Adoption Policy
If interested, we have potential adopters meet the animal in person and fill out our adoption application. After reviewing the application, which are processed in the order they are received, as long as everything checks out and is good to go we will reach out to the applicant to either set up an adoption appointment (if the animal of interest is altered and ready to go), ask some clarifying questions if part of the application was unclear, or let you know that the animal is already spoken for. We require that ALL family members meet the animal prior to adoption. Once the kitty or puppy, cat or dog is ready to go- we do an in person adoption where we go over pet care, the history of your new family member, microchip the animal, and help fill out the registration information.
