Luke 2021's Story

This handsome purebred Rottweiler is approximately 6 years old and is looking for a new forever home through no fault of his own. He was adopted from our rescue in 2021 but was recently returned after his owner experienced serious health issues and could no longer care for him.

He has had formal training and knows a variety of commands in both English and German. He is crate trained, potty trained, and walks nicely on a leash with a training collar.

He is affectionate, loyal, and wonderful with people, including children. He adored the young child in his previous home and enjoyed spending time with all of her friends. He has also lived successfully with a cat for the past three years, and the two became great companions.

With other dogs, he does best with compatible canine friends. While he gets along well with some dogs, he can be reactive toward dogs that challenge him, so thoughtful introductions and proper management are important.

If you're looking for a well-trained, loving, and devoted companion, this sweet boy has so much to offer the right family.

Adoption Process:
If you are interested in adopting one of our fun-loving, "not-so-rotten" Rotties, you will be asked to fill out our adoption application which allows us to get to know you better. This ensures the dog you are interested in is a good fit for your family and lifestyle. You can access our Adoption Application by visiting our website at www.rottenrottie.com (http://www.rottenrottie.com/), clicking on Adopt a Rottweiler - Adoption Application, and submitting the form online.

After reviewing your answers, if we feel the dog you are interested in is not a match for your family, we may recommend a different Rottweiler companion. Once we determine which dog is best for you, we will schedule a meeting at their current home, where they feel most comfortable and act naturally.

We require a home check to ensure each dog is going to a safe environment. To finalize the process, an adoption contract must be signed. We also require a rehoming fee, which is typically $500 for most adults and $350 for seniors (6 years and older) or Rottweiler mixes of any age (excluding puppies). Fees for puppies fluctuate depending on the investment required for the litter and whether they are purebred or a mix. These funds are necessary for our organization to continue rehoming Rottweilers in need.

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and have tested negative for heartworms. Each dog comes with a collar and a leash. We also address any injuries or illnesses they had upon arrival or developed in foster care; any such conditions will be fully disclosed to the adopter prior to the adoption.

Please Note: In almost all cases, we do not adopt to out-of-state applicants. On rare occasions, if we feel it is a PERFECT match for both you and the dog, we may make an exception for our neighbors in Las Vegas. If you live in Las Vegas and would like to be considered, please fill out our adoption application.

Our Adoption Process If you are interested in adopting one of our fun-loving, not-so-rotten rotties, you will be asked to fill out a questionnaire. This allows us to get to know you better and make sure the dog you are looking at is a good fit for your family and lifestyle. You can access our questionnaire by visiting our website, www.rottenrottie.com, clicking on the forms tab, filling out the questionnaire, and submitting it online. After reviewing your answers, if we feel that the dog you are interested in is not a good fit for you and your family, we may recommend a different rottweiler companion. After we determine which Rottweiler(s) is the best for you, we will set up a time to meet him or her at their house, where they will feel most comfortable and act as they usually do. Finalizing the adoption requires an adoption contract to be signed, and we ask for a rehoming fee. For most of our adults, a typical rehoming fee is $400. Most of our seniors over 6 years of age, and our Rottweiler mixes are typically $250. Fees for our puppies fluctuate based on our investment in them or their litter and whether they are purebred or mixed. These funds are necessary so that our organization may continue to rehome Rottweilers. ALL of our dogs are sterilized, fully vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, and come with a collar & a leash. We also address any injury or illness they had when they came to us or received in foster care. We will disclose the problems to the adopter prior to adoption.

We are a small rescue group consisting of 5 directors and only a handful of volunteers. We became a corporation in November 2011, and it is our goal to save as many purebred Rottweilers as we can from being euthanized or becoming homeless. We are looking for foster homes and, of course, donations are a large factor that p...
