Lucy XII's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Lucy is always ready for some attention. She is a very affectionate dog and loves to be with people. Our vet thought that she was probably a year or two younger than 8 and her foster mom says she has a slightly above average energy level, but she has a very sweet temperament and is an easy dog to live with. Her interactions with other dogs in her foster home and at the dog park have been wonderful - very friendly, and she is willing to cuddle with them or play. We have not observed her with cats but she really doesn't seem to have any prey drive when it comes to squirrels or rabbits, but if the other dogs encourage it she might chase. Her house training has been perfect and she will use the dog door. At night she sleeps contentedly in her crate and, as her foster family works full 8 hour days, she is also crated when left alone and doesn't seem to mind it. She shares toys well with other dogs and although she loves her food she has no food aggression either. In her current foster home she is not often leash walked, but when she is she does well. We think Lucy would be happy as long as she has a person or a dog to play with and get attention from. Lucy is heartworm positive but she was treated mid August. We anticipate her coming to Florida possibly the second week in September.
