Lucy Darien's Story

Lucy was born around February 21, 2019 and weighs about 30 pounds. Lucy and five other dogs were surrendered to us when their human needed surgery and was no longer able to care for them. Lucy is very laid back and loves other dogs and her humans, including children. She is a lap dog and 'shadow', following her people everywhere. Lucy rode well in the car on the two-hour trip to the rescue. She has attended PetSmart events and does a fantastic job! Lucy greets everyone with tail wags while asking for love and is content just sitting, watching the shoppers. She walks nicely on a leash and is actually quite perfect in every way! Lucy is fine with cats.

Foster mom update:
Lucy Darien is NEARLY perfect! She is the sweetest, most loving, 'chill'/calm/quiet dog that we've ever worked with! Lucy adores her people, is a 'lap dog' and a 'velcro dog' always at your feet. She sleeps soundly in bed cuddled with her people and is wonderful with the other dogs and cats in the house. Lucy is great in the car and walking on leash. She will stay by your side off leash and will stay very focused on being right at your feet!
The only thing that she's not perfect on is housebreaking. She's made good progress in foster care but is only about 60% housetrained at this point. Her foster parents are still diligently working on this.

The Adoption Fee for this dog is $500.00
Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. Joyful Rescues's Adoption Policy
By adopting a pet you are not only helping the pet you adopt but also others in or needing to come into rescue. Your adoption helps us to keep doing what we do to help area animals stop reproducing and find quality homes for the homeless while providing them the best care we can. Your new family member will take considerable time, attention, patience and money to be properly cared for. Think of your new addition as your baby!! It is not a lawn ornament to be tied in your yard or kept in a basement. Consider the ultimate size of a young pet, how big of a pet can you handle??
