Our vet thinks she is about 5 years old and she is 9 pounds. Lucy is an owner surrender from a backyard breeder. She just had her last litter on Dec 11th. The original owners have just separated the puppies from the Mom and are selling the un vetted puppies – ugh. We tried to get all the puppies but that was a “no go”. In the meantime they were done with Mom and wanted her gone. We have happily accepted her into our CRT program. This girl is a delight. She is super loving – she loves humans and other small dogs. We took her in on Friday for initial vet work. She is heartworm negative (yeah) and we got her first set of vaccinations. We need to let her milk dry up (about 3 weeks), and will then have her spayed plus insert her microchip. It looks like she could use some dental work too. So we’ll spend quite a bit of money on her but she is out of the breeding world forever. This is something truly to celebrate. Tonight she is in a warm CRT foster home and is starting her journey towards a life of love and adventure.

So far she is doing great in her foster home. She loves the other small dogs. She has been going outside to potty. She loves toys. And she LOVES people

We’ll update her bio as soon as we get to know her more, but so far, she is DELIGHTFUL!

Lucy is being fostered in the DFW (Texas) area. If this sweet girl sounds like the right fit for your home, our CRT adoption form can be found at: http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/ Note: it works best when our application is filled out on a computer versus a phone or tablet. When the application submits correctly, the system will send you a copy. If you do not receive a copy into your email que, it did not submit. Feel free to email us at DFWCoordinator@chihuahua-rescue.com if you need help with the application.

Lucy will be spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, HW negative. and on heartworm prevention. She will complete her vet work in mid February and will be ready to join a loving family at that time – could that family be yours? We are taking applications now.

This dog is a CRT rescue. Reference checks, adoption contract and $300.00 adoption donation required.

As part of our mission to reduce the number of unwanted and sick dogs, we require that all current pets are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and taking heart worm prevention. Applications will not be considered if one or more of these requirements are not met.

After filling out an adoption application (found at http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/), please email DFWCoordinator@chihuahua-rescue.com if you are interested in this dog. Please be sure to read about our adoption process and then fill out an adoption application before emailing the contact person.
