Lucy's Story

Lucy is a very sweet dog who loves attention. She will push her head into you or place her paw on your lap and let you pick her up and give her kisses. She’s so excited to see you when you come home!! But she needs to be reminded to not jump on people. She LOVES being brushed and likes being close to her humans, but she reserves play to other dogs only. She is currently living and getting along fine with a Female GSD. They love to play “catch me if you can” in the back yard! She is curious about the neighbor’s cats but hasn’t shown any aggression towards them. Ideally, she would go to a home with a fenced yard (we would recommend a 5’ fence, as she has escaped a couple of times from a 3.5’ fence to go chase after a squirrel). Lucy needs to be kept busy and given plenty of toys/treats to chew on if she’s staying inside by herself during the day, as she can become destructive when left alone for too long (mostly in the form of stealing food from the kitchen counter or chewing on firewood). We would recommend that she have a doggy companion she can play with during the day. She is used to walking with a gentle leader, but she still does get fussy with it at times. She has been friendly towards our house guests and has shown no aggression to strangers or their dogs while on walks or at the off-leash dog park. Anybody will be lucky to have a dog as sweet as Lucy as part of their family.
