Lucy's Story
Good morning from Lucy ☀️

Lucy came to us on November 2nd from our local shelter. At just three years old, she had already spent her life in a home after being adopted as a puppy—but when she arrived, she was struggling. She weighed 29 pounds and was deeply traumatized, fearful of everything, and would snap or react aggressively toward any dog and people, no matter the size.

Today, Lucy is a different girl. She now weighs a healthy 18 pounds, and we are so incredibly proud of the progress she has made with her devoted foster mom. Through patience, structure, and love, Lucy has learned that people can be kind and safe.

She still has some “stranger danger” moments, but the transformation we’ve seen is nothing short of amazing. Lucy would do best in a calm, patient, and loving home where she’s given time to adjust and build trust at her own pace.

She’s not a lap dog, but she does want to be near her person at all times. She’ll gently tap your leg when she’s ready for scratches and affection, and she enjoys her treats—especially now that she’s worked so hard on her health and stays on a structured routine.

Lucy has come so far, and now she’s ready for her forever person to step forward and give her the life she deserves ❤️. Lucy is fully vetted, house trained, now walks well on a leash and most importantly Its happy!

If you think you could be the one for Lucy, please visit our website and complete an application at danteshope.com. Her foster will be in touch to set up a meet and greet and tell you all about her.
