Meet Lucy <br/><br/>Lucy is a sweet little Beagle mix, approximately 1–3 years old and weighing around 25 pounds. She may be a little shy when you first meet her, but underneath that cautious exterior is a loving, devoted girl just waiting to feel safe. <br/><br/>Lucy needs a patient person who understands that some dogs need a little extra time to decompress and learn that they are finally home. She may not rush up to you with a wagging tail on day one, but give her the time and kindness she needs, and you’ll get to see the most beautiful transformation.<br/><br/>Once Lucy warms up, she is an absolute lover. She bonds deeply with her person and has so much affection to give. She just needs someone willing to let her take those first few steps at her own pace and show her that the world can be a safe and wonderful place.<br/><br/>Lucy is currently being treated for heartworm at the rescue’s partner veterinary facility, where she is receiving the care she needs to get healthy and ready for the next chapter of her life.<br/><br/>She may need a little patience, but we promise she’ll be worth it. Sometimes the most special bonds are the ones that take a little time to build.<br/><br/>Lucy is looking for someone who will be patient, gentle, and willing to let her decompress and discover that she is finally home.
