Lucy's Story

Lucy is a 2 year old poodle, Maltese, chihuahua mix…. We are just going to keep adding breeds because it’s a guess but she’s 100% adorable! <br/><br/>Lucy was an owner surrender but we have no idea why! She is literally perfect! She loves everyone. She is house trained. She gets along with all the other dogs big and small. <br/><br/>All dogs are brought current on their vaccinations up to the point of adoption. Parasite protection is also done with dewormings, flea/tick prevention application, and heartworm prevention. If old enough a heartworm test is done. The spay/neuter and microchip are included in the adoption fee. All our dogs go to their new homes with their collar/leash, dog bed, favorite toy(s), bowls, and some food to acclimate them. For adoption consideration, please fill out an application from our website at (www.causeforpaws.net). Please also read about our adoption process and requirements on the website. For the safety and convenience of our foster homes and their orphans, we will only consider applicants that are within a 100 mile adoption radius.

Cause For Paws's Adoption Policy

In order to encourage folks to rescue homeless Orphans, we try to make the rescue experience as non-invasive and pleasant as possible. First, an application is completed prior to meeting any of our orphans. Since we do not have a shelter, it’s important to be able to pre-qualify folks that will be making appointments with fosters, to meet any of our orphans. We do a vet check, to verify all current or previous dogs are up to date on vaccines, heartworm testing, heartworm prevention, and are either spayed or neutered. We may also contact references listed on the application when there is no previous vet information, or where more information is needed. We’ll then contact you to arrange a home visit, which is merely an opportunity to ask and answer any questions regarding our process. Since most of our orphans have already been in a situation that was not right for them, we want to do whatever it takes to allow them to succeed. It is not our intent to set a dog or a family up for failure.

Our Mission

Cause for Paws Rescue is an all-breed rescue group made up of dedicated volunteers, who open their hearts and their homes to provide a safe haven for our orphans, who come to us from Animal Control, High-Kill Shelters and owner surrender situations. Most of our group is made up of volunteers that were previously with Dob...
