She was found as a stray and brought to AMA, and when she first arrived, she was understandably scared, skittish, and unsure of the world around her. But with patience, kindness, and time, Lucy has been showing us the sweet, loving dog that was hiding underneath her fears.<br/><br/>Little by little, Lucy has come out of her shell. She may approach new people cautiously at first, but it doesn't take long before she decides you're a friend. Once she feels safe, she quickly warms up, happily jumping into laps and enjoying all the affection she can get. She absolutely loves being pet, held, and cuddled, and she is happiest when she's close to her people.<br/><br/>Lucy is incredibly sweet and curious about humans. She wants to be near you and is sure to become a devoted "velcro dog" who follows her favorite person everywhere. If you're looking for a loyal companion who wants nothing more than to love and be loved, Lucy may be your perfect match.<br/><br/>Because of her sensitive nature, Lucy would do best in a calm, quiet home with gentle energy. She is not a good fit for a home with babies or toddlers, as she needs an environment where she can continue building confidence at her own pace. Lucy also appears to enjoy the company of other small dogs and may benefit from having a calm canine friend.<br/><br/>Lucy has already come so far.
